THE ALEXANDRIA
5 BEDS, 4.5 BATHS, 3673 SQ.FT.
The steadfast rhythm begins before the dawning and is so much a part of everyday life that it virtually goes unnoticed, but it is such an integral and essential part of life and commerce here that we would be lost without the reassuring beat. For it is the horses’ hooves we hear — clip, clop, clip, clop — bringing wares from the port, workers to their jobs, mail from the world and visitors and politicians alike to “Old Town” — and the horses and carriages are here today in Alexandria for you and me to enjoy.
THE ALEXANDRIA II
5 BEDS, 4.5 BATHS, 3673 SQ.FT.
As the car approached the gracious old home, the young man leaned forward to observe the dignified colonel waiting to receive him. It seemed a long time since he played here as a boy. Now, he was returning from war, and all things familiar filled him with warmth he had not recently known. After exchanging formalities, the colonel embraced the young soldier, his grandson, and they withdrew arm-in-arm into the beckoning walls of the Alexandria II.
THE BLOOMSBURY PARK
5 BEDS, 5 BATHS, 4741 SQ.FT.
Once upon a time, when I was quite young, there was a wondrous house near an amazing park that was lit with a thousand lights. From this home, you could see in the distance a ferris wheel, a carousel, mechanical swings and occasionally hear a bit of music from an old calliope. On summer evenings, this home seemed a gathering place for picnics, croquet and hide and seek. Oh, how I wanted to live there! This home, Bloomsbury Park, with its magical kingdom nearby, was the stuff that dreams are made of ? and this dream is now my reality.
THE BROOKHAVEN
4 BEDS, 3.5 BATHS, 2912 SQ.FT.
What a surprise ~ and a pleasant one at that. When we built our home for two, it fit us like a glove. Then, as our family grew, so did the house. By completing the upper level, our every need was met and, now that our children have flown the nest, it works for two once more. However, when they return with our grandchildren, we just fill it up all over again. This delightfully warm, classic cottage is truly a home for all seasons and building the Brookhaven is definitely the second best decision we ever made. The first, of course, you already know.
THE CHARLESTON
4 BEDS, 4.5 BATHS, 3212 SQ.FT.
Give me a mint julep, a rocking chair and a Charleston piazza high above the street where I can catch the evening breeze and have not a care in the world. No “noseeums,” no problems — all is right in my world tonight.
THE GREEN VALLEY
4 BEDS, 4.5 BATHS, 4147 SQ.FT.
Green Valley is the place to be. Green Valley for just you and me. This is our home that we celebrate with love and with glee! We had saved. We had planned. We had looked far and wide - then, we found it, the Green Valley. Is it no wonder that we are so happy. It is home...
THE GULL ISLAND
3 BEDS, 2 BATHS, 2180 SQ.FT.
When I first saw Gull Island, I knew it had to be mine. The charm and simplistic individuality of this little cottage utterly captivated me. Immediately, I thought of how my life would be living in this tranquil and timeless little gem. It is perfect for cookouts and barbeques, perfect for romance, perfect for creativity and perfect for solitude. It is here that I plan to live my life, love my wife, fish at sunrise and write my book.
THE TWIN GABLES
5 BEDS, 5.5 BATHS, 3574 SQ.FT.
"Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" was asked for the umpteenth time. The annual sojourn to the beach was well under way, and the children were so excited about the seemingly endless vacation months stretching out before them. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends - all would be coming and going the whole summer long, and we were well prepared with sand buckets, floats, lots of sunscreen and goodies. Ahead was Pawley's Island, and toward the sea was our very own summer house - Twin Gables. "We're here! We're here! Race you to the beach..."
THE TWIN GABLES II
5 BEDS, 5.5 BATHS, 4119 SQ.FT.
He is the apple of his grandparents’ eye, that Sammy is. Oh, the tales they can tell would fill a book. Once, after putting him down for a nap, they sat out on the porch of their Twin Gables II for a bit of a chat. When they went in to check on him, he was gone. That child had climbed out of his crib, crawled out of his room, and was found in the bathroom playing in the “water” — and we all know what water, don’t we? The news at Sammy’s house is that there will be another Sammy or Samantha soon. They can hardly wait…
